Since the fee for Full Week of Dance© classes is only $5 per class, we respectfully request that you add $1.00 to help us cover the PayPal charges (yes, they charge service fees for non-profits, too).

Wonderful Winter Workshop: WWW. 2.0 Begins Soon!

Join the dance! The second Wonderful Winter Workshop (www.2.0) offers you opportunities to dance. Learn something new, dance styles that you love, make your own dance. Shake El Nino out of your spine and remember that dance can be fun! There are TWO parts to www.2.0; participate in one or both. Bring your dancer buddies and friends who never dance. It’s time to dance!

The Choreo-cubator© Invites You to Make a Dance & Dance It!                      Polish a work in progress or start something new. Then, perform it. ALL styles welcome. Explore. Experiment. Exchange supportive feedback with other explorers. There are four working sessions: 6-7:15 p.m., Feb. 4, Feb. 11, Feb. 23, Feb. 25. Your Showcase performance is 6:-7:15 p.m., Feb. 28. All working sessions & the Showcase performance will be at the Mountain View Masonic Center, 890 Church Street, downtown Mountain View. Fee includes working sessions and performance: $60.00.

Winter Full Day of Dance©                                                     Sunday, Feb. 28, five wonderful classes. The first one starts at 11:30 a.m. The last one ends at 5:30 p.m. Take one, all, or any number in between. There is a 15 minute break between each class. Classes include: Contemporary, Leslie Friedman; Tap, Audreyanne Covarrubias; Pilates mat, Amity Johnson; Etta’s Line Dances, Etta Walton; Improvisation, Leslie Friedman. All classes are mixed levels. That means they all will welcome pros & beginners. Ages mid-teens to any adult age. Location: Mountain View Masonic Center, 890 Church Street, downtown Mountain View, 94041. Cost per class reduces with each added class: $20 for a single class – $50 for all five.

FULL DAY OF DANCE© is the unique, amazing innovation of International Dance Festival@Silicon Valley. The greatest dance experiences for everyone from pros to beginners. Take something you already know and love AND try something completely new to you! Never danced before? This is your time. A professional ballerina who stays up late watching Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers tap? This is your chance to give it a try. Supportive, enthusiastic teachers. You’ll be in a class with all different levels. Someone might be a complete beginner at classical Indian dance but terrific in tap. Or — a total complete beginner–you name it; it’s all possible. You can take one, some, or all six classes. The price per class reduces with each added class. No special outfits or shoes required. Even for tap, wear a shoe that will stay on your feet; you can learn the rhythms & steps without taps on your soles, but your true soul will be dancing!!! Here’s the class schedule. Let us know of your desire to attend as soon as you can. In addition to scholarship aide, IDF@SV offers more ways to reduce your costs: FREE homestays in lovely homes only a few blocks away from the Festival center for all classes and events; bring another dancer to the Festival, and you both will get a discount; members of Dancers’ Group get a 10% discount on all classes and events.This is YOUR time to dance. It is YOUR time to perform in a real, public concert on a program with acclaimed professionals. It is YOUR chance to create a dance to be performed on the Festival Concert. Come dance with us!!

From July 1 on, applicants pay regular price. Registrants after Aug.4 are welcome, pay a slightly higher rate. Walk-ins welcome for Full Day of Dance©. International Dance Festival-Silicon Valley: FESTIVAL ARTISTS

LeanneSmallInternational Dance Festival-Silicon Valley offers an amazing array of dance artists who will perform and teach in Season III, August 11-17, 2014, at the Masonic Center, Mountain View, CA. Mon-Fri Workshop artists include Leslie Arbogast (San Diego,CA/East St. Louis, IL) teaching Katherine Dunham; Leanne Rinelli (Buffalo, NY) teaching Salsa; Leslie Friedman (San Francisco) teaching Contemporary. Each workshop, open to interm-adv. dancers, will teach technique and repertory which dancers may perform in the Festival Concert, Sun., Aug., 17. Full Day of Dance©, Aug. 16, open master classes for all–adv. dancers and non-dancers–offers Pilates mat taught by Amity Johnson, Tap taught by Audreyanne Covarrubias, Salsa taught by L. Rinelli, Dunham taught by L. Arbogast, Contemporary taught by L.Friedman, Electric Lines taught by Etta Walton, Manipuri taught by Dr. Sohini Ray.
