CHOREO-CUBATOR© $125 regular (after May 7) Choreo-Cubator© offers dancers and other artists whose work involves movement space and time to make new work or to polish a work in progress. Supportive atmosphere. Opportunity to perform (not required but encouraged) in Showcase Performance, June 22. Working sessions for Choreo-cubator© meet on June 12, 14, 15, 19, 21, 22, at 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. ALL kinds of dance welcome.

FULL DAY OF DANCE© Meets from 10:00 a.m. – 4:45 p.m. on Saturday, June 16. Each class one hour long. Fifteen minutes between classes; lunch break 12:25 – 1: 15 p.m. All five classes $70. Classes include Jazz, 10 a.m.; Pilates mat, 11:15 a.m.; Tap, 1:15 p.m.; Contemporary Ballet, 2:30 p.m.; Line dances, 3:45 – 4: 45 p.m. Five movement classes, back to back, all mixed levels. The International Dance Festival@Silicon Valley invites choreographers, dancers, and other artists whose work involves movement to apply for the Choreography Awards at IDF@SV 2018. All kinds of dance are welcome.
Winners will perform on one of the Festival’s concerts: the Showcase Performance, June 22, 6:30 p.m., or the Festival Concert, June 23, 3 p.m. These are both public, ticketed performances. There are also cash awards. This is an amazing opportunity to present your work to new audiences without having to do the many chores of self-production.
PLEASE NOTE: work may not be longer than 8 minutes. DEADLINE for application is May 7. We will not announce awardees until after the deadline in order to have time to review all applicants. Even if we love your work, we cannot announce until after the deadline to be fair to all applicants.
Applicants are advised to send their video either on a DVD by US mail to The Lively Foundation, 550 Mountain View Avenue, Mountain View, CA 94041-1941 OR send video by youtube to firstname.lastname@example.org IF YOU SEND BY YOUTUBE: Please send us an email stating that you are sending it so that we do not think it is spam. We prefer not to receive by dropbox due to spams.
Send the following for your application: Your name, name of the work, length of time of the work, number of performers and their names. Let us know if you need special technical effects or equipment. The performances are low tech. CONTEMPORARY DANCE, Technique & Repertory taught by Elisabeth Kindler-Abali, visiting artist from Berlin, Germany, will teach her dynamic technique and excerpts from her choreography. Classes meet 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. June 26, 27, & 30. Don’t miss the opportunity to work with this international artist. She returns to Berlin soon after the Festival Concert. Fees: $75 Early Bird/$85 after May 20.
PERFORMANCES: Showcase Performance, 6:30 p.m., June 30, tix: $10 This performance features ALL new work, improvisations, experiments. Includes select performances from winners of the Choreography Competition.

The Lively Foundation announces exciting new events for the International Dance Festival@Silicon Valley, 2016. Physical Comedy Workshop with Megan Ivey takes place August 7, 2:00-4:00 p.m. Ms Ivey trained in Physical Comedy & Clowning at the Ringling Brothers academy. She has performed in previous Festival Concerts tap dancing with Tapper Extraodinaire, Audreyanne Covarrubias. This will be her first Physical Comedy workshop in this area. It is suitable for any age adult and younger people age 10 and older. Normally a $100 value, the workshop will be $30 per person with a special price of $15 for accompanying family members or partners. Early registration recommended! INTERNATIONAL DANCE FESTIVAL@SILICON VALLEY, 2015 began just two months ago. It was a whirlwind of dance, energy, creativity. The Festival Preview offers a drop in class in Dunham Technique (Afro-Haitian) dance, noon-1:15 p.m., taught by Leslie Arbogast, a dancer with national recognition as a leader in Dunham Dance. Mixed levels, beginners-pros welcome. It’s great to find out how many parts of your body can move!
Or, try the Cuban Salsa, 1:30-2:45 p.m., taught by Leanne Rinelli. It’s rhythmic, fun, sensual. No partner is necessary. Any level, beginner and up. Ms Rinelli studied Cuban dance and music in Havana. You will have a blast trying this class.
OR, do not take a class at all! You are still welcome to attend the FREE Salsa Demo Performance AND the FREE GAVINA COFFEE TASTING. What a great day! Leanne Rinelli leads the Salsa performance. The International Dance Festival@Silicon Valley presents WWW. a wonderful winter workshop. Open Master Classes led by beloved artist/teachers will help you to dance into the New Year! Classes will be offered on Sunday afternoon, January 18, and Tuesday evening, January 20. Artist/teachers are coming from around the country to participate. We welcome back Leanne Rinelli from New York and Leslie Arbogast from San Diego. All classes take place at the Festival HQ: the Mountain View Masonic Center, 890 Church Street, Mtn. View. All classes are mixed levels. A prima ballerina might be a complete beginner at salsa; a salsa dancer will love to learn Dunham technique. Do what you love; try something new to you. Classes offered will include:
Salsa – NO partner necessary; Line Dances – NO partner necessary; Dunham Technique – Katherine Dunham introduced Afro-Haitian & Afro-Cuban dance to the US; Pilates mat – no previous experience required, a great body tune up for Pilates lovers or newbies; Contemporary -technique & repertory.
The price per class reduces with each added class. For example, Early Bird fee for a single class is $20. EB fee for two classes is $36 ($18 X 2). The fees continue like that except for the fee for 7 classes which is $63. TAKE ALL THE CLASSES AND ONE OF THEM WILL BE FREE!!!!! WHAT A GREAT DEAL!!!!! EARLY BIRD fees available until Jan. 3, 2015. We are making this easy for you to come and dance: the two dates are not priced separately. Take one class on the 18th and three on the 20th and you get the rate for four classes.
